7 Steps to getting the most out of your Logo contest
Fill out the Logo questionnaire as completely as you can, to the best of your ability
Make your contest prize amount the most you can afford. It’s no secret that higher prize amounts lead to far more high quality entries
Take a few minutes to rank your entries daily. That way designers will learn your preferences and can modify and submit new designs accordingly to assure you get what you want.
Provide feedback on each entry if possible, even if it is brief. Designers want to give you what you want, and feedback gives them the information they need to do that.
In general, the more you update feedback and rankings, the better the entries you’ll receive.
Keep your selection committee as small as possible so the final selection can be done as efficiently as possible.
Select your winner within 7 business days so you can receive any revision requests from the winning Designer as quickly as possible
What is required of LogoTrader clients?
First of all, never ask one designer to use elements or concepts from another designer
If a Designer was the first to submit a particular idea, they essentially own that concept for the remainder of the contest. Any requests or ideas you put in your contest Brief are open to all Designers participating. Concepts that are considered to be obvious are also fair game. For example, if you want a logo for a dental practice, a tooth is considered an obvious concept; if the contest is for a veterinary clinic, dogs and cats are obvious concepts.
You must select your winner within 7 days of the end of the contest.
In the majority of cases, you’ll have a good idea of who the winner is even before the contest ends, so this should not be a problem. If you feel you need additional entries from the Designer community, or if you need more time to make up your mind, you can request a one-time 3-day extension of the contest. Please be aware that if you have not selected a winner within 2 weeks of the end of the contest, we will attempt to do a final follow-up with you by email. If we do not receive a response, LogoTrader Support will select the winner and distribute the prize. We will make the selection based on existing rankings, existing Contest Holder comments, and / or community feedback. We rarely need to use this policy, but it is in place to maintain a high level of confidence from our Designers and to maximize participation in the contests. Thank you for reading and understanding this policy.
